Our Team of Counselors

Our counselors are Advanced Clinical Interns who have completed college and are currently in graduate school where they are receiving specialized mental health training and education. All of our Advanced Clinical Interns are under direct clinical supervision.

 

Sara Fanning

Pronouns: she/her

Sara is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is actively becoming a certified Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor at Montclair State University. Sara has worked within the mental health field in different capacities prior to coming here to the center. Sara's main goal is to offer support to all clients and to work collaboratively on all areas of wellness. Sara loves focusing on client strengths to encourage growth. With all the being said, Sara emphasizes the importance of developing a positive therapeutic relationship to foster self-exploration. When engaging in self care, Sara enjoys spending time with family/friends, heading to the beach, playing video games with friends, cuddling her cat, and traveling as much as possible.

 

Karolyn Mora

She/her

Karolyn is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Montclair State University. Her goal is to provide an open and safe space for her clients to be able to feel like they are not being judged. “ I want to offer my clients support and work together towards wellness. My hobbies are spending time with my family/friends, playing with my boys (dogs) Niko and Axl, and traveling to different places.” 

Karolyn is fluent in English and Spanish. 

Diandra Tenessen

Diandra is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University. Her goal is to ensure to provide a judgment-free space where all her clients feel seen, heard, and understood. “It is an immense privilege to be let in on the inner workings of you, and I hold that privilege with great care. I hope that we can work together to create a deeper understanding of yourself and the world around you.”


 

Moyanda Pierre

Pronouns: she/her

Moyanda is a mental health advocate passionate about uplifting and helping others become the best versions of themselves. As a first-generation West Indian, she understands the unique intricacies of cultural backgrounds and their influence on shaping how individuals see the world. In her counseling sessions, Moyanda is sure to encourage individuals to be comfortable and honest as she provides empowerment and collaboration. Throughout the process of creating the ideal therapeutic relationship, Moyanda allows for a non-judgmental space for you to tell your story.

 

Victoria Shapiro

If you would like to write your own story from your perspective and become the protagonist of your life, Victoria can help. Victoria helps clients reclaim their own personal power while they navigate through life’s challenges. “ We all go through bad times and sometimes have trouble getting ourselves out of the patterns we’ve created, whether in our lives or in our minds. Start with me to find motivation, the strength you’ve had inside you all along, take control to build your life, and make it your own.”

 
 

Christina Primerana

Pronouns: She/Her

Chrissie is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is committed to cultivating a compassionate, empathetic, and culturally supportive environment where clients feel truly at home and free from judgment. Chrissie adopts a person centered approach to wellness and whole person healing. She views herself as a partner in her clients' journey and is dedicated to building trust and nurturing positive rapport while identifying client strengths and opportunities for growth.

 

Saeid Vahidi

Pronouns: He/him

Born in the Middle East and raised in NJ, Saeid has firsthand experience with the challenges and benefits that come from holding a range of identities that may not always fit together neatly. Saeid’s goal as a therapist is to be someone in your corner who works to understand where you’re coming from, brings insight into what you’re going through, and partners with you to get you where you want to be. Saeid is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Social Work at Rutgers University.
